Hilmar Cheese plans for additional investments in cheese production at its facility in Dalhart, Texas, US.
The expansion is said to increase facility's milk receiving capabilities and cold storage space.
The investment will also be used to expand 640 cheese block processing equipment.
Hilmar noted that investment comes as an earlier expansion to the 40 lb. natural cheese processing is fully operational.
Hilmar Cheese president and CEO John Jeter said, "A growing milk supply and a stable regulatory environment make Texas a great place to invest in cheese processing."
Hilmar Cheese COO David Ahlem said the latest expansion is scheduled for completion in early 2015.
"It allows us to process up to 20% more milk, giving us more cheese and whey proteins to meet the world's increased appetite for American dairy products," Ahlem added.
Currently, the facility processes around 200 tanker-loads of milk each day.
The company built the Texas facility in 2005 and began processing cheese and whey protein in September 2007.
