It partnered with the HSH for its hotel management education programmes. HSH members visited UEI Global to assess the teaching standards and educate hotel management students on global career opportunities. The institute that is accredited to HSH was reviewed on global parameters for its teaching standards and syllabus. The audit was carried out by Annette van de Meene, GM, HSH Performance Management; and Monique van den Heuvel, senior consultant, HSH Performance Management. After Lucknow, the audit will be followed by Delhi, Agra and Jaipur.
While conducting the audit, van den Heuvel said, "Our main motto of the audit is to ensure that the students in the institute are getting the best education and learning under the guidelines of experienced teaching staff. Also, to ensure that infrastructure, learning material, training room etc. are of quality standards comparable to HSH international standards. We speak and interact with students and teaching staff during our audit. We discuss with them and take their suggestions and ideas for improvement. The important part of the audit is that we do not involve any UEI Global official with us."
"At the end of the audit completed in various institutes, a report and advice is prepared on what needs to be done. Recommendation to change certain things in curriculum, methodology, change as per industry requirements etc. are mentioned in that report," she added.
Speaking on the infrastructure, audit and expansion of the institute, Manish Khanna, MD & CEO, UEI Global, said, "There is a growing demand in the service sector as retail and aviation have been poaching a number of employees from hospitality sector and therefore we need to train them with respect to each sector. Our collaboration is bound to make us a leading institute with a world class hotel management programme in the country."
van de Meene said, "Periodic audits help us understand the levels being maintained by the partners, it also gives us an opportunity to interact with the students and the industry and see if there are any gaps that can be filled."
