Nuvan, a popular international insecticide brand used in all major crops, has been launched after IIL's technical collaboration with US-based American Vanguard Corporation (AMVAC) under which the product will be now manufactured and marketed by IIL.
Nuvan and Hakama are the new additions to IIL's kitty of brands such as Lethal, Victor, Thimet and Monocil.
The company has also introduced Hakama, a herbicide from Japanese company Nissan Chemical Industries Ltd. IIL, which teamed up with Nissan Chemicals earlier this year, has now been gearing up to tap the national market. Hakama is used in various crops majorly in soybean, groundnut and cotton for control of narrow weeds.
The two products will prove to be of critical help for the farmers in protecting their valuable crops. "We are happy to be associated with American Vanguard Corporation, for Nuvan once again after the success of Thimet in 2006. This collaboration is a strategic growth area for us. As AMVAC is a well-known name in the production and supply of agricultural products for crop protection and management, this relationship is expected to provide a leading edge to capture the target market in India," said Rajesh Aggarwal, MD, IIL.
"We have a very aggressive plan to capture the targeted markets in south this year. With Nuvan and Hakama strength in our kitty, we expect to grow by 25% in this financial year," he said.
IIL has been striving hard to provide training and information to the farmers, since last 3 years through awareness programmes pan-India. The objective is to create an understanding on the prudent use of pesticides and its safety measures with the emphasis on good agricultural practices, to maximise the crop yield. Last year, the company organised a one-day safety awareness drive where 120 meetings were conducted.
IIL has modern production facilities with a technical synthesis plant to manufacture technical grade chemicals such as Imidacloprid, Acetamiprid, Dichlorovos, Lambdacyhalothrin, d-Trans Allethrin, Glyphosate, Butachlor and Thiamethoxam, providing the competitive edge by backward integration. It has already started production from its two new production units at Dahej and Udhampur. It has a strong national distribution network.
