The next edition of Nutraceuticals India 2012 is scheduled to be held in New Delhi from October 9 to 12, 2012.
The event will be focussed on navigating stringent nutraceutical regulatory guidelines and implementing the latest advances in R&D techniques to drive nutraceutical product development in the country.
Being organised by Fi Conferences and UBM India, the event will comprise a pre-conference regulatory seminar to be held on October 9, 2012, two-day strategic conference to be held from October 10-11, 2012, and Nutricosmetics workshop, which will be held on October 12, 2012.
The pre-conference seminar will look at topics such as Understanding latest Nutraceutical Regulations to fast-track its Development; Determining Impact of Labelling and Health Claims Guidelines; Examining the latest Advances in Analytical Techniques to Detect Risks; Establishing the role of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) to gain first-mover Advantage; and Evaluating Regulatory Requirements in the US, UK and Emerging Markets to Increase Exports.
The strategic conference will cover topics like Forecasting Market Opportunities and Product Categories for Nutraceuticals; Evaluating the Impact of Changing Consumer Lifestyle Trends; Identifying new Product Development through Innovative Tools and Techniques; Overcoming R&D Challenges in Product Development; Developing Innovative Ingredients Catering to Nutraceutical Segment; and Understanding the Opportunities in Ayurceuticals.
The workshop will cover Evolution of Nutricosmetics, Market Dynamics for Nutricosmetics in India; Legislative Scenario; Nutricosmetics for Adolescents; Nutricosmetics for Ageing Skin; Nutricosmetics for Allergies and Sensitive Skin; and Future of Nutricosmetics in India.
At the pre-conference seminar, S S Ghonkrokta, director, enforcement, Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), will give presentation on understanding the upcoming nutraceutical regulations as per the FSS Act to remove ambiguity and fast- track the development of Indian nutraceutical products. He will cover points like clarifying the definition of nutraceutical ingredients as per the latest law and establishing how the regulatory framework is evolving to ensure greater support for the nutraceutical industry.
Prabodh Halde, head, regulatory, Marico India, will talk on clarifying the impact of emerging food safety guidelines on nutraceutical products to build a robust food safety system in the organisation.
Shefali Thanawala, senior medical advisor, Plethico Pharmaceuticals, will give presentation on understanding the regulations in emerging and developed countries - UK and US to increase exports of nutraceutical products.
