Liquid egg products up 3% from May 2011

Core Tip: The total amount of edible liquid product from shell eggs broken during May was 235,587,000 lbs, up 8% from April and up 3% from May 2011, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said in its latest Egg Products report.
May production of edible liquid whole eggs was 134,625,000 lbs, up 6% from April and up slightly from 134,171,000 lbs in May 2011; liquid whites were 67,203,000 lbs, up 11% from April and up 7% from May 2011; liquid yolks were 33,759,000 lbs, up 12% from April and up 6% from May 2011.

Shell eggs broken in May were 183,282,000 dozen, up 8% from April and up 5% from May 2011.

January–May production of edible whole eggs was 663,182,000 lbs, down 1% from the same period of the previous year; whites were 300,467,000 lbs, up 5%; yolks were 152,559,000 lbs, up 4%; and total edible liquid was 1,116,208,000 lbs, up 1%.
