Cass-Clay Creamery Issues Allergy Alert on Undeclared Eggs in Peppermint Bon Bon Ice Cream

Core Tip: Cass-Clay Creamery of Fargo, N.D., is voluntarily recalling Hornbacher’s Peppermint Bon Bon Light (half gallon/1.89 liter), Schroeder Peppermint Bon Bon (1.75 quart/1.65 liter) and SunnyBrook Peppermint Bon Bon Light (half gallon/1.89 liter) for undeclare
People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to eggs run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

The recalled products were distributed in Iowa, North Dakota, Minnesota and Wisconsin. All code dates for these products are affected.

No illnesses have been reported to date.

The recall was initiated after it was discovered that a flavoring containing egg yolks was used as an ingredient in the products, and the ingredient statement on the product package did not reveal the presence of eggs. 

No other products produced by Cass-Clay Creamery are affected by this recall.

Consumers are advised to return these products to the store where they were purchased for a full refund.  Anyone requiring more information is advised to call the Consumer Affairs line at 1-800-441-4269.
