The conference coincides with 21st Biennial Congress and General Assembly of World Association of Industrial Technological Research Organisations (WAITRO). The conference is being organised by Shriram Institute for Industrial Research (SRI), Delhi, in association with WAITRO. The chief guest for the conference is Dr A P J Abdul Kalam.
According to the organisers, the theme has been selected solely so that state-of-the-art technologies in the emerging areas relevant to the growth of science and technology as also for the benefit of society, would be presented to achieve all-inclusive growth. Keeping in view the important aspects associated with poverty alleviation, societal growth, technological advancement and sustainability, different sessions have been dedicated to the different industry sectors. The aim is to provide a platform for constructive and interactive actions amongst the stakeholders. In each session, emphasis would be on giving coverage of 360° approach to innovation cycle starting from fundamental research, ending into its implementation.
The aim of the conference is to provide an opportunity for all stakeholders concerned with technological innovations as well as with sustainable growth from different parts of the world to benefit from the successful and exemplary experiences of others; to provide a platform for scientists, technologists, innovators and industrial experts to deliberate on the highly advanced aspects of the state-of-the-art so that a path forward for all inclusive growth could be drawn out; to create the possibilities of cooperation and collaboration amongst the technology providers and technology seekers; to develop a strong network of innovators and keep them actively engaged with the aims and objectives of WAITRO; to facilitate interactions involving experts from academia, research and development institutions, innovation centres, incubators, MSMEs, SMEs, corporates, policy-makers, industry associations, and chambers of commerce.
The focus areas related to the topic of the conference include renewable energy; bio-fuels; solar cells; fuel cells; bio-diesel; bio-mass; wind energy; hydro-energy; etc. and development of alternative materials derived from renewable resources.
The conference would have technical sessions dedicated to Environment: Climate change, carbon footprint, global warming, water footprint, waste to wealth, waste management, persistent organic pollutants, toxins etc. Food: Food processing, food safety and food security, post-harvest management etc. Healthcare: Biomedical, traditional system of medicine, hygiene products, biotechnological products, targeted drug delivery, nano-carriers etc. Novel Material: Nano-materials, strategic materials, engineering materials, high performance composites, smart material, biopolymers, industrial textiles, technical textiles, etc. Radiation Processing: Food products, agri-products, healthcare products and industrial products, UV radiation, X-rays, electron beam accelerators, gamma radiation and so on. There will be presentations by experts from each field.
