Core Tip: Campbell Soup Co. has completed its acquisition of Bolthouse Farms for $1.55 billion. Campbell acquired Bolthouse from Madison Dearborn Partners, L.L.C.
“We have acquired a terrific business that is a good strategic fit with Campbell’s existing portfolio and growth strategies,” said Denise Morrison, president and chief executive officer of Campbell. “Bolthouse Farms has exceptional employees and fantastic products. This gives Campbell one of the leading positions in both the fast-growth packaged fresh food market and in healthy beverages and provides us with an opportunity to expand into adjacent segments that leverage exciting consumer trends.”

The acquisition was first announced in July.

Bolthouse is headquartered in Bakersfield, Calif., and has a leading position in fresh carrots and premium beverages as well as a presence in refrigerated salad dressings.
