R290 is a natural hydrocarbon refrigerant having zero Ozone Layer Depletion Potential (ODP) and a low Global Warming Potential (GWP), as defined by the Kyoto Protocol. In commercial refrigeration applications, these new R290 compressors are more efficient than other chemical refrigerants, according to a press release issued by the company.
The company has already developed three models of R290 compressors and will be supporting the environmental initiatives by some of the largest beverage manufacturers in India.
Further, the Atit plant recently achieved another significant milestone - building one million compressors within a period of one year.
The company exports compressors to countries across Europe, the Middle- East, Latin America and Asia. Shrikant Bapat, MD, Emerson Climate Technologies (India) Ltd, pointed out, "Globally, manufacturers are looking at cutting costs and providing services more effectively.
