Meat processor JBS USA has announced changes to senior management, with current CEO Don Jackson due to retire at the end of the year.
Jackson will be replaced as CEO by Andre Nogueira, who was formerly CFO for JBS USA and is currently CEO of JBS Australia, on January 2013. Bill Rupp, president and COO of JBS USA’s beef business, will take over the leadership of JBS Australia.
Nogueira has worked for JBS for the past five years, having joined the company after working for more than 20 years in the financial banking sector. Commenting on his appointment, he said: “In my new capacity as CEO, I am excited to continue to work with our team to position JBS USA as the most efficient, preferred supplier for our customers.
“Global consumption of animal protein has experienced tremendous growth over the last decade and JBS USA is well-positioned to meet increasing protein demand through its strategic global production and sales platforms. I look forward to working with all of our stakeholders to provide the highest-quality beef, pork, poultry and lamb products.”
Rupp has worked for JBS USA since 2010, prior to which he worked for Cargill for 20 years, holding a variety of different senior-level positions, including president of Cargill Beef.
JBS USA is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Brazil-based JBS SA.
