Tetra Pak has announced the Tetra Brik Aseptic 1000 Mid LightCap 24 that builds on the success of Tetra Brik Aseptic 1000 Base perforation carton packaging.
It features the company’s lowest cost screw cap which offers consumers increased functionality while giving customers increased space for branding and product promotion.
The package has a two-step opening with barrier protection for a wide range of products including oxygen sensitive drinks such as value added milk, juices and nectars, still drinks and wine, ensuring that the product is safe, secure and kept fresh for longer.
In addition, the new carton package features a pull ring, which gives more security for consumers as it clearly demonstrates whether the carton has been previously opened.
The LightCap 24 uses a combination of pre-laminated hole (PLH) and direct injection moulding concept (DIMC) technologies, offering customers the widest possible opening for enhanced pouring functionality while using the minimal amount of raw materials; ensuring it is not only practical for consumers but cost-effective for customers too.
The new carton package has six layers stacked on pallet, enabling manufacturers to distribute the same number of litres per pallet while adding greater functionality for the consumer through the addition of the new closure.
“We are very pleased with the better pallet utilisation achieved with Tetra Brik Aseptic 1000 Mid LightCap 24. It enables more efficient distribution as the package takes up less space for transportation. This has allowed us to achieve six layers on a pallet rather than five achieved with our previous package. We are now able to use vertical space more efficiently in our warehouse while also reducing waste due to less damage,” says Fernando Koch, UHT Plant Manager, at Soprole a dairy producer in the Fonterra Group.
The Tetra Brik Aseptic 1000 Mid LightCap 24 runs on the Tetra Pak A/3Flex 0400V filling machine. This allows customers to increase the number of packages produced per hour to 8,000 packages from 6,000 Tetra Brik Aseptic 1000 Base packages with perforation on the TBA/8 filling machine.
