Brazilian beef exports are forecast to grow by 10% this year as a result of increased sales to key markets and a favourable currency.
The Brazilian Association of Meat Exporters (Abiec) predicted that exports will also grow by 10% in the month of October compared to the same period last year, with total beef shipments reaching around 105,000 tonnes.
An Abiec spokesperson said there were a number of factors behind the increase, including growing sales in Chile, Libya, Venezuela, Russia and Iran, the return of fifth-quarter exports to Europe and the devaluation of the real.
