The Chilean blueberry season continues to develop normally. Last week there were widespread rains from the Central South zone to the South. Despite this neither flower drop or freezing have been reported, meaning that export estimations, overall, remain the same at 89,900 tons. This could change if there is a frost, a possibility that will remain in place throughout October.

Fresh blueberry exports continue to show higher than expected levels as a result of an advanced harvest, due to high temperatures.

Until week 40 a total of 47 tons had been exported. During week 40 32 tons were shipped, compared to the estimated 7 tons. For week 41 the estimate rose from 18 tons to 65.

Frozen exports showed a decline in September due to a surplus of stock in the main target market, the USA. Exports of frozen fruit fell 70% from 534 tons in August, to152 tons in September.
