Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstance, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.

This recall is in response to an expansion of Sunland, Inc.’s voluntary recall of products manufactured in its peanut butter plant after March 1, 2010 due to possible Salmonella contamination. No illnesses have been reported to date.
