Purnatur – a marketing company specialized in Turkish fresh produce – has received the first loads of lemons packed in their own brand. It was a proud moment for Purnatur’s director Osman Aritan and his son Resat, the duo managing the company.
Purnatur was established on 1 September 2012 by Osman, in partnership with AgroCap Invest BV and Innoverde BV. Aritan says that Purnatur focuses on representing the interests of a select number of leading producers in Turkey, amongst others Cem Turan, the owner of citrus specialist CMS. This family concern is responsible for supplying all citrus products which are packed in the Purnatur brand.
According to Osman the relationship with CMS is of such an intensive and close nature that it has resulted in an explosive start to Purnatur’s activities. “We have been combining our collective knowledge and skills for some time, and this has created an outstanding flywheel effect. The production capacities of Cem Turan, combined with the international marketing knowledge and client base of Innoverde and Cool Fresh International has resulted in a wonderful balance between supply and demand. A very welcome spin-off is the fact that prices levels have created mutual satisfaction for the importer and the producer’.
In the coming weeks Purnatur will be marketing a substantial volume of lemons (variety Interdonato) throughout Europe. All sizes will be available on a continuous basis. The Purnatur product range will soon be expanded to also include grapefruit (week 43), Satsuma, Minneola, as well as various varieties of oranges. Due to various requests being received from retailers, as from November CMS will be packing citrus in nets
(consumer packs) in its ultramodern packing facility.
