The Riverside County Sheriff Department says the latest robbery happened in Bermuda Dunes at the Wienerschnitzel on Avenue 42 and Washington Street. The robber reportedly pulled out a gun and left with an undisclosed amount of cash. No one was hurt.
Detectives are also trying to find out if the robber also struck two Carl's Jr restaurants last Thursday night. Cathedral City police responded to the first one, just after 9:00 P.M. at the store located on Date Palm Drive. 45 minutes later, the Sheriff's Department believes that the same man held up the Carl's Jr on Cook Street and Gerald Ford Drive in Palm Desert. In both incidents the crook used a gun and got away with some cash.
Indio Police are also working with the other agencies to see if two robberies in their city are connected. The first robbery occurred on Friday November 2nd at 2:53 A.M. at the Del Taco Restaurant on Highway 111.
The second robbery occurred on Tuesday, November 6th at 10:45 P.M. at the Carl's Jr Restaurant also on Highway 111. In both cases that suspect had the same clothing, physical description and was armed with a handgun. The suspect is described as a white male between 20-30 years old, he wore a black sweater with a hood, red bandana over his face, black jeans and black gloves. No one was injured in either of those robberies.
