Undeclared Gluten in Kupiec Corn Flour Labelled as “Gluten Free”

Product Identification: Kupiec corn flour, “gluten free”, 400g, batch: B 184 PL, best before date: 31/01/2013

The above batch of corn flour was found to contain almost 40 mg/kg of gluten but was labelled as “gluten free”. This may make it unsafe for consumers who are allergic or intolerant to gluten. This product has been exported from Poland and in Polish is called “Maka Kukurydziana”. It has been sold in stores nationwide, mainly those selling Eastern European foods.
