Saint Arnold Brewing in Texas, US, is planning to unveil Saint Arnold ICON.
The first Saint Arnold ICON, which will be a Belgian-Style Pale Ale, will be available on tap in bars and restaurants from 10 December 2012 in Houston and across the rest of Texas and Louisiana from 17 December 2012.
The new beer, with a metallic red and black label, is part of rotating beers and will complement the brewery's year-round and seasonal offerings.
The beer will be launched quarterly, with repetition of some styles from one year to the next and other styles replaced with the brewery's new experiments.
The brewery is also planning to release the beer from January 2013 in 4-packs of 12 ounce bottles throughout Texas and Louisiana.
Saint Arnold founder and brewer Brock Wagner was quoted by Craft Beer.com as saying that they started working on ICON six or seven years ago, but it has taken them long to have the necessary capacity to add a permanent line of new beers.
"Some of the ICON beers will be traditional styles and others will be experimental, but all will be different from beers we currently brew," Wagner added.
The beer got its name from the icon of Saint Arnold of Metz, which was painted in 2001 by the Rev. Andrey Davydov, a Russian Orthodox priest and icon painter from Pskov.
