Tallegg, an Estonia-based largest poultry producer, has opened its new poultry farm in the West-Viru County, Estonia.
The new poultry facility will employ modern poultry feeding technology with non-dried grain and has been designed with a capacity to hold about 224,000 chickens at a time, said the company.
The company has renovated its old facility Väike Maarja into the new farm with all veterinary requirements that meet the standards of the European Union.
Tallegg Board chairman Teet Soorm said that the company will have to repair the old poultry facilities of the Soviet Union in order to boost the broiler production.
The farm will be the sixth production facility of the company and is expected to surpass the production capacity of 11 million of broilers annually.
The production capacity of the new facility is 1.7 million chicken a year.
