A man stole a purse from a Hilton Head Island Wendy's employee as she was leaving work about 11:30 p.m. Sunday, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.
The 36-year-old woman was in the parking lot of the fast-food restaurant on Nature's Way with a coworker when a man approached them and demanded money, Sgt. Robin McIntosh said. After she refused, the man grabbed her purse and ran toward Otter Hole Road.
The suspect was described only as shorter than 5-feet-5, McIntosh said.
