The Vintner Group, a Virginia-based distributor and importer of fine wines, is to acquire fine wine distributor Prestige Wine Wholesale (PWW) of Atlanta for an undisclosed amount.
With the acquisition of PWW, the group will expand its distribution footprint, which includes Delaware, Maryland, Washington, West Virginia, Virginia, North and South Carolina and Florida, to new regions like Georgia.
Post acquisition, The Vintner Group will retain PWW owners Joe Geroge and Jim Sculley, who will handle daily operations of the firm that mainly distributes to on and off-premise accounts in Georgia, reported Shanken News Daily.
The Vintner Group marketing director Clay Farmer told the website that after Florida he anticipates Georgia to become the company's largest market.
The group's portfolio includes blends like Beau-Rivage from Bordeaux and Altosur and Sophenia from Argentina, Balcones whiskey from Texas, Boyd & Blair potato vodka from Pennsylvania and others.
