Framptons, based at Charlton Road in the town, wants to expand its premises and build a new warehouse.
The firm have been given permission to extend its current warehouse but said it could be "one or two years" before it is finished.
"The jobs will range from machine operators through to normal packers," said spokesman Allan Staples.
