Core Tip: Chamisal Vineyards is all set to add a new wine - 2012 Chamisal Stainless Pinot Noir - to its portfolio.
Chamisal Vineyards, a California-based producer of wines with distinct characters, is all set to add a new wine - 2012 Chamisal Stainless Pinot Noir - to its portfolio.

To be released as a companion wine to Chamisal's Stainless Chardonnay, the Stainless Pinot Noir is made by winemaker Fintan du Fresne, who produced the wine without using any oak or malolactic fermentation.

The wine is a blend of Clone 828 and Clone 2A grapes sourced from the vineyards throughout the Central Coast and Chamisal Vineyard. The fruit forward wine possesses aromas of red and black berry fruits with intense tannin structure.

du Frense said, "By fermenting this Pinot in stainless steel tanks, we ensure that the wine retains authentic varietal aromas and flavors, and the result is a wine that bursts with aromas of bright cherry, candy apple and rose petal."

Chamisal Vineyards has produced only 1,200 cases of the wine, which retails for $24 per bottle. The winery plans to release the wine to select markets in March 2013.
