Annual Alltech International SymposiumThe world is abuzz about algae and their seemingly limitless potential. Lauded as the possible future of biofuels, a solution to carbon sequestering and a sustainable source of healthy fats and oils for food production, now is the time to find out more. Everything has the potential to be greener if we "Glimpse" the future of agriculture with algae, at Glimpse 2020, the 29th Annual Alltech International Symposium in Lexington, Ky., USA, from May 19-22

“We will focus on algae as part of the foundation of the food chain by identifying the importance of DHA and how it can balance the omega-6:omega-3 ratio in today’s Western diets,” said Becky Timmons, chairperson of the algae-related track at Symposium. “As we look towards the future of nutrition, there is an increasing need to find high-quality, alternative raw materials to feed the growing population. There is a big challenge in front of us - we need to provide consumers the right nutrition, a balanced diet of fatty acids, vitamins and amino acids. We must be forward thinking and identify various opportunities to use value-added solutions in order to provide nutritious food to the world.”

New in 2013, Alltech International Symposium delegates will have the opportunity to select breakout session tracks. These tracks, as opposed to traditional species or subject breakouts, will offer attendees a more holistic experience in which they take part in discussions ranging from algae and agriculture’s carbon footprint to nutrition and marketing.

Algae-focused breakout sessions include:

• Simplify Your Food Chain: Algae as the Foundation of Nutrition in the Future
• You Are What You Eat: Better Health Through Better Nutrition and the Role of DHA
• Anything You Can Do, I Can Do Better: Identifying the Opportunities for Value-Added Products.

Registration for Alltech’s 29th Annual International Symposium is open now and available for an early discount price of $599 until April 15 at 11:59 p.m. EST. Standard registration after April 15 will be $850. Two paid registrations from a single company or organization will receive a third registration free of charge. Delegates who are members of ARPAS and AAVSB can also earn CEUs.

Attendees are encouraged to register early as space is limited. Of the nearly 3,000 international delegates who attended the 2012 Alltech International Symposium, 97 percent indicated that they plan to attend again.
