Nestlé Philippines is set to invest PHP5bn ($122.43m) on the expansion of its coffee creamer manufacturing plant in Tanauan, Batangas.
Opened in October 2012, the coffee creamer plant produces Coffee Mate and Nestlé Bear Brand Powdered Milk Drink. The company has already expanded the production of the facility by four-fold.
Nestlé used to import Coffee Mate from Malaysia, Thailand and Mexico, before the opening of Tanauan facility.
With this new investment, the facility is expected to produce about 60,000 tons per annum, starting from 2013.
The company currently operates manufacturing plants in Cagayan de Oro to produce Nescafe; Pulilan, Bulacan for Nestle ice cream; Lipa City in Batangas for Milo and Nestlé cereals and Cabuyao.
Nestlé Philippines technical director David Findlay was quoted by Malaya Business Insight as saying that the acquisition of Wyeth's Canlubang facility will increase the company's manufacturing plants to six in Philippines.
