DSM celebrated the opening of its new Enzyme Solutions, Oils and Fats Unit office and laboratory facilities in San Diego, Calif., on March 26.
The opening celebration was hosted by Hans-Christian Ambjerg, president of DSM Food Specialties, and attended by Joseph D. Panetta, CEO of BIOCOM as well as Federico Mina, senior director of Biomed Realty Trust. DSM has opened the new facility to support its business in sustainable enzyme-based yield enhancement solutions for the oilseed crushing and refining industry.
Exactly one year ago, DSM acquired certain assets of a San Diego biotech company, including Purifine enzyme technology as well as state of the art applications laboratories that are integrated into this new facility. The San Diego location was also chosen to take advantage of the knowledge base of the local biotech hub as well as the entrepreneurial spirit of the city.
