Holland’s, a manufacturer of pies, puddings and pastries based in Lancashire, England, has announced that it has secured a national listing with the UK’s independent online grocer, Ocado.
The company noted that with the online food market growing, it would be able to take advantage of this retail channel to promote its range.
Holland's will offer its bestseller in chilled retail, Potato & Meat Pie plus other favorites from the range including Peppered Steak Pie, Chicken & Ham Pie, Cheese & Onion Pie and Steak & Kidney Pudding.
Holland's said that Ocado features a simple checkout system and express home-delivery service that delivers across most of the UK, and as a result, it will be able to offer its customers a more convenient and fast way to shop its chilled singles range.
Holland's spokesperson David Girdler said that this online retail channel is very exciting for the company.
"It means that we are able to reach our customers across the UK and further expand our business outside of the North West thus we are able to ensure that our customers are getting the best possible service when purchasing our pies. Online retailing of Holland's is something we as a brand are very keen to develop," Girdler added.
Holland's employs over 300 people at its Lancashire base and is part of 2 Sister's Food. The company has a strong presence in the North West market. Holland's Pies are available to purchase through various retail outlets including fish & chip shops, leading supermarkets and football stadiums.
