Four products are being recalled:
• Marinated Feta in 250gm packs with best before dates of 6/9/13 to 13/9/13
• Feta and Chile in 250gm packs with best before dates of 6/9/13 to 13/9/13
• Feta Vacuum packed in 220 gm packs with a best before dates of 15/4/13 to 15/5/13
• Feta 500gm in brine in a bucket with a best before dates of 15/4/13 to 15/5/13.
Identifying features
Each product has the batch number 13049 printed on the pack. The product was first available for sale on the 15th March 2013.
What are the defects?
The recall is due to microbial (E. coli) contamination.
What are the hazards?
Foods contaminated with E. coli may cause illness if consumed. Symptoms can be simple or bloody diarrhoea, abdominal cramps. Often there is little or no fever or vomiting.
