US-based Conagra Brands is recalling nearly 2,094,186lb of frozen entrees over misbranding and the presence of an undeclared allergen.
The recall includes P.F. Chang’s Home Menu Chicken Pad Thai and Chicken Fried Rice, which are frozen, heat treated, not fully cooked or shelf stable.
According to the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), the product that is subject to the recall contains milk, a known allergen, which is not declared on the product label.
Products that are subject to the recall were produced on various dates between 1 October 2018 and 11 April 2019, with ‘Best By’ dates of 26 September 2019 to 5 April 2020.
The items subject to recall bear the establishment number ‘EST. P-115’ and were shipped to retail locations across the US and impact only the P.F. Chang’s Home Menu Brand products listed. The recall does not include products sold at its restaurants.
Conagra Brands identified the issue during its routine label verification check and discovered that the product did not declare milk on the label.
No confirmed reports of adverse reactions were reported so far as a result of the consumption of the products.
FSIS stated that anyone concerned about a reaction should contact a healthcare provider.
Consumers were urged not to consume the products and to either throw them away or return to the place of purchase.
In February, VICS Acquisition recalled 99,975lb of chicken products in the US because of misbranding and undeclared allergens.
