Red Diamond, a US-based family-owned and operated coffee, tea and foodservice company, has selected LBP Manufacturing's UpShot Solution to offer coffee and tea in single-serve format.
Starting from June 2013, Red Diamond will offer a selection of its tea and coffee blends in a single-serve format for customers to enjoy at home or on-the-go.
UpShot Solution is a filter featuring a proprietary mesh that enables coffee or tea products to maintain freshness with its seal outer packaging.
It also contains a sidewall mesh that offers multiple points of contact for water and grind in brewing.
The technology is designed using 100% polypropylene to enable roasters and brands to enter into the single-serve beverage market.
The UpShot Filter is compatible with Keurig and other single-serve brewers.
Red Diamond retail distribution executive vice president Dave Burke said: "We were looking for a single-serve model that fits our needs of quality and efficiency but also allows for flexibility and customization, and the UpShot Solution offers that and much more - it lays the groundwork for new opportunities and is a solution that can really grow with us as a company."
Red Diamond's single-serve filters will be available for purchase at retailers and online at www.reddiamond.com.
The company plans to expand its single-serve offerings later in 2013 and iced options, 3-in-1 special blends and celebrity-branded endorsements in 2014.
