Newfoundland's fisheries minister is accusing the province's largest fisheries union of making misleading statements.
Derrick Dalley made the accusation Wednesday in the legislature as tempers flared over how crab prices are set in the province.
A price setting panel has set a price that the union says is too low.
Some members of the Fish, Food and Allied Workers union dumped thousands of kilograms of crab over a wharf in Hickman's Harbour earlier this week as the dispute escalated.
In the legislature, Dalley accused the union of telling lies and flip-flopping on important issues.
Dalley says he has met with the union and the Association of Seafood Producers, saying the union's actions in Hickman's Harbour were not acceptable.
