Bacardi USA, the US import and distribution arm of Cuba-based Bacardi, has expanded the BACARDI Classic Cocktails Light collection of ready-to-serve low calorie beverages with the addition of new flavor, Light Strawberry Daiquiri.
BACARDI Classic Cocktails Light Strawberry Daiquiri is a blend of BACARDI Superior rum, strawberry flavor, real lime juice and pure cane sugar. It offers less than 95cal per 4oz serving.
Bacardi USA rum category vice president and brand managing director Toby Whitmoyer said they are happy to add Strawberry Daiquiri to the BACARDI Classic Cocktails Light line.
"Diet or low-calorie products drive the ready to serve category and we will continue to strive to meet the needs of our growing consumer base," Whitmoyer added.
To support the launch of the new flavor, the company will hold a campaign from mid-May to September 2013, which will include sampling events in 21 selected markets in states such as New York, California, Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, Ohio, New Jersey and Texas.
The new flavor of BACARDI Classic Cocktails Light will be distributed nationwide in both 750ml and 1.75l sizes.
