The Whisky Shop, a UK-based whiskey retailer with 21 shops nationwide, has purchased Scottish whisky shop, Loch Fyne Whiskies, for an undisclosed amount.

The acquisition follows the recent opening of new shop at Piccadilly, London.

Loch Fyne has a collection of single malts and own-label products. The products include Loch Fyne Blend, Loch Fyne Collectables, Loch Fyne Liqueur, Loch Fyne Marmalades, Loch Fyne Fudge, Living Cask, Inverarity, and others.

The Whisky Shop managing director Andrew Torrance was quoted by Harpers as saying with a portfolio of blends and single malts, Loch Fyne Whiskies has made a good contribution to the premium whiskey sector in the UK.

"We're delighted to have acquired such an interesting business and feel that it is a valuable addition to The Whisky Shop brand," Torrance added.

"While the strategic focus of our group is directed towards the major population centres in England and elsewhere, I have no hesitation in recognising that there is room in our portfolio for this little gem."

Loch Fyne Whiskies owner Richard Joynson said, "It was important to me that the right buyer should be found for the business and I'm confident that The Whisky Shop is that."
