Starbucks has entered into a milk supply contract with Arla, a Denmark-based dairy giant, to supply Cravendale milk brand to the company-owned coffee outlets across the UK.
The switch from Dairy Crest is due to the quality of milk at farmer-owned co-operative Arla.
The contract will see approximately 16 million liters of milk supplied by the dairy giant from its Hatfield and Stourton plants in the UK.
Cravendale is created using a filtration process prior to pasteurization to remove bacteria.
Starbucks retail operations vice president Rhys Iley was quoted by thegrocer.co.uk as saying: "We are committed to supporting British farmers, and by partnering with Cravendale, we not only get fantastic quality milk, Cravendale's co-operative model also means its farmers co-own the business and therefore share in the profits."
Earlier the coffee chain has partnered with Arla for its range of RTD chilled coffee drinks.
