Core Tip: McDonald's must defend itself from allegations that a customer ruined her singing voice after eating a chicken sandwich that contained glass.
McDonald's must defend itself from allegations that a customer ruined her singing voice after eating a chicken sandwich that contained glass.

Jacqueline Simpson, a 52-year-old clerk for the state Attorney General's Office, told The New York Post she has filed a lawsuit in Brooklyn Supreme Court against the fast food giant after biting into the glass at a McDonald's nearly the World Trade Center three years ago.

“Now when I sing, I have a hoarse, rattly voice," Simpson said in the Post article. “I still sing alto, but I can’t sing soprano like I used to."

Ofelia Casillas, a spokeswoman for McDonald's Corp., did not immediately respond Tuesday to an emailed request for comment. But Paul Goodman, who owns several McDonald's restaurants, told The Huffington Post he plans to investigate the matter.

“Rest assured I take these matters very seriously," Goodman said. "Providing safe food and beverages is a top priority at my restaurant. Upon learning about this claim, I took immediate action to gather the facts and began an investigation into the matter. As this is a pending legal matter, it would [be] inappropriate to comment further."
