Core Tip: The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) suspended the fish product import licence of Entreprise Noire D'Ébène Inc., effective June 2, 2014.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) suspended the fish product import licence of Entreprise Noire D'Ébène Inc., effective June 2, 2014. The company is located in Pierrefonds, Quebec.

There is no food recall associated with this suspension. The import licence was suspended because upon inspection, certain products were in violation of the Fish Inspection Regulations. CFIA inspectors also noted that some product labels and packaging did not comply with regulations.

The company is not permitted to import fish products into Canada while its import licence is suspended.

In order to reinstate the licence, the company will be required to reapply to the CFIA, demonstrating that all necessary, corrective measures have been implemented to the satisfaction of the CFIA.

Licences and registrations of federally registered establishments or companies can be suspended or cancelled for failing to comply with relevant CFIA Acts and Regulations.
