Core Tip: A girl from Kelowna, B.C., is making international headlines for chastising the CEO of McDonald's during the corporation's annual shareholders meeting in Chicago on Thursday.

Hannah Robertson was at the meeting to ask some tough questions of the fast food chain's CEO Don Thompson.

"Mr. Thompson, don't you want kids to be healthy so they can live a long and happy life?" she said during the question and answer portion of the shareholders meeting.

"It would be nice if you stopped trying to trick kids into wanting to eat your food all the time."

The CEO responded by saying the fast food chain is taking measures to offer healthier options."

"Hannah, thank you for your question. Couple of things, Hannah. First off, we don't sell junk food, Hannah."

She and her mom, who blog together about healthy foods for children, were at the meeting along with the watchdog group Corporate Accountability International.

The fourth grade student is now back in Kelowna talking about her fight for healthy food and reality behind the so-called happy meals.

"They're putting the toys in their happy meals. Kids like that. It's kind of like tricking them into thinking that McDonalds is good for them and it's like this amazing thing."

"I just wanted to have a voice for all of those kids and parents who wouldn't have that opportunity. I was trying to say to them to try not to market to kids."
