Kalinga Coffee Council (KCC) of Philippines is set to improve the coffee bean production and enhance the quality of coffee beans in Kalinga province.
As part of the initiative, KCC has found municipalities of Balbalan, Pasil, Pinukpuk, Tabuk City and Tanudan as the pilot areas to initiate the program.
The municipalities have old coffee farms and plantations where most are now neglected with the introduction of more productive and easier alternative sources of income.
KCC members have undergone Value Chain Analysis (VCA) workshop on 24 May 2013 and initially formulated their work plan for the province's coffee industry.
It will also be represented in the National Coffee Conference be held this month in Baguio City.
For this program, the local chief executives and legislative were asked to give their commitment and support.
KCC was organized as a policy making body in the development of the coffee industry in the province.
