Bruce Cost Ginger Ale, the eponymous boutique brand launched by the Asian cooking expert involved in such well-known ventures as Big Bowl and Wow Bao, has added Nantucket Nectars founder Tom First as board member and advisor. An ardent fan of Cost’s product, First is the managing partner at First Beverage Group. Cost feels the entrepreneur can be of great value in helping him navigate the company’s growth.
“We are pleased to have Tom,” says Cost. “His knowledge of the beverage industry and track record will be a great asset as we increase domestic and international distribution, tweak our branding, introduce cans and launch a lower calorie offering. Mostly he loves our drink, seeing it as we do, as a kind of ‘next-step’ craft beverage, unfiltered, healthful and made from scratch from all fresh ginger. ”
“Bruce has turned the oldest soft drink in the world into a one of a kind beverage. His creative approach to this industry is refreshing. I’m flattered to have been asked to join his board and I see great opportunity for this company,” said First.
Bruce Cost Ginger Ale is available at specialty stores and foodservice establishments in the U.S., Canada, and Japan. Top chefs such as David Chang (Momofuku), Rick Bayless (Frontera Grill), Thomas Keller (Ad Hoc), Charles Phan (Slanted Door), and Nancy Silverton (Short Order) feature Bruce Cost Ginger Ale on their menus. The ginger ale can also be ordered online at Harney & Sons and BevMo.
