Core Tip: Healthy eating, exercise and the ever controversial diet pills are often part of a determined dieter’s plan.
Phendiettermine (an amphetamine sold under approximately 20 different names), orlistat (prescription Xenical; Alli over the counter) had no competitors for a full decade.

Last year, Lorcaserin and Qsymia were approved and today they both hit pharmacy shelves. These two pills designed to fight obesity are expected to deliver its users a 5 to 10 percent weight loss when used as a supplement.

Lorcaserin, sold under the name Belviq, was rejected twice by the feds in 2009 and 2010. FDA cited efficacy and safety as it rejected the pill. In 2012 it made the cut with approval for dispensary to patients who have a BMI of 30 or those with a BMI of 27 if a second disease alongside obesity, like diabetes, is present. People who have BMIs of 30.0 and above are considered obese.

For patients with health insurance, the monthly cost of lorcaserin- $200 -may be adjusted.

Lorcaserin tricks the brain into believing the body has consumed enough food without actually consuming huge portions. Even though this pill is the first weight loss pill on the market in a decade, the pill alone doesn't guarantee a patient dramatic weight loss results.

Obesity, according to the National Institute of Health, is the result of more caloric intake than output. In other words, the body consumes too much calories and doesn't do enough exercise to burn it off. Genetic susceptibility, overeating, eating high-fat foods, and not being physically active all contribute to a person being overweight or becoming obese.

NIH says that obese people who lose just 5 to 10 percent of their body weight can delay the risk of diabetes, heart disease, stroke, arthritis, and some cancers.

Many health experts are certain that the combination of weight loss pills and exercise is a certain route to a healthy body weight (which in turn reduces risks of other health related diseases).

Two-thirds of the American population is overweight or obese, and slowly, the nation's greener cities are implementing plans to curb excessive weight gain the country. Labels are being added to coke machines and vendors in a number of public schools have agreed to green eating and healthy lunch time foods for kids.

but the suggestions for healthy eating, coupled with exercise are always the number one suggestion to combat weight gain and excess weight. Now, the government has approved more weight loss pills to supplement the road to a healthy weight and a healthier lifestyle.

Salmon, avocado, beans, chili peppers, green tea, coffee, and yogurt are all recommended fat fighting foods. The most difficult aspect of losing weight (a new diet) is, for some, quite simple once they learn the dangers of processed food. But for some, the inability to give up sugars and processed foods is the reason weight loss is so incredibly difficult.

But with the government's approval, weight loss goals can be much more attainable under direction and supervision of these two new weight loss pills.
