Tanduay Distillers, a Philippines-based producer of distilled spirits, is set to bring its Asian rum, Tanduay Rhum 1854, to US markets in summer 2013.
The distillery has selected Brand Action Team, Beacon Beverage Imports and MHW to handle its brand in the US. Tanduay Rhum has two variants - Silver Tanduay and Gold Tanduay, which are going to be introduced in US markets.
While Brand Action Team will look after marketing aspects, Beacon will focus on distribution and key account management. MHW will handle the administrative, regulatory compliance, transportation, logistics and other services related to the import and physical distribution of Tanduay in the US.
The 40% ABV Tanduay Rhum 1854 was first established in the Philippines in 1854.
Brand Action Team managing partner Steve Raye said with more than 160 years of heritage pleasing rum lovers around the world, Tanduay is ready to hit the US market.
"This is a brand that U.S. consumers are going to love, and we're thrilled to bring this award winning rum to America," Raye added.
Tanduay Distillers president Lucio Tan Jr said as they began to lay the groundwork for making Tanduay a global brand, it was clear that the US was an important, yet untapped market.
"Brand Action Team, Beacon, and MHW bring to the project track records in successfully launching new spirit brands, and possess strong category experience that will help us quickly establish a US presence," Tan added.
