Charoen Pokphand Foods (CPF) plans to expand the presence of Thai fast food chain Five Star Chicken outlets massively across India and Vietnam.

Under the expansion, 500 Five Star Chicken outlets will be opened in India over the next two years. The fast food chain also intends to open 400 eateries in the following five years in the country.

In Vietnam, Five Star Chicken is keen to launch around 250 fast food outlets by 2013-end, followed by another 800-900 outlets in the next five years.

CPF deputy senior managing director Sanjiv Pann told The Nation that growth in Vietnam is comparatively higher compared to India.

Pann claimed that making a mark in the Indian market would take some time for Five Star Chicken as it was launched in late 2012 only.

CPF is set to open Five Star Chicken outlets in prime cities such as Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, New Delhi and Bangalore in India, and Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Dong Nai, Hai Phong, Can Tor and Danang in Vietnam.

Five Star Chicken is keen to introduce a new concept model, Five Star Chicken Café, which will be a blend of restaurant and café shop.
