Wholesale wheat prices decreased by Rs 5 per quintal in restricted Saturday activity due to reduced offtake by flour mills against adequate supplies on increased arrivals.
However, other grains moved in a tight range in scattered deals and settled around previous levels, according to The Hindi Business Line. Traders said reduced offtake by flour mills in the face of increased supplies from producing regions mainly put pressure on wheat prices.
In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) declined by Rs 5 to Rs 1,565-1,570 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery also traded lower by the same margin to Rs 1,570-1,575 per 90 kg.
