John Compton, a former longtime PepsiCo executive, has joined the board of directors of Crossmark, the sales and marketing services company said on Wednesday.
He will serve along with principals of Warburg Pincus, the global private equity firm that recently acquired a majority stake in Crossmark, which is based here.
At PepsiCo, Compton most recently was president. Previously he was chief executive officer of PepsiCo Americas Foods — the largest division within PepsiCo. In addition, he was CEO of all PepsiCo operations in the U.S. and Canada.
He began his career at PepsiCo in 1983 as a Frito-Lay production supervisor in the Pulaski, Tenn., manufacturing plant. In all, Compton spent 30 years at PepsiCo in various sales, marketing, operations and general management roles.
