At least 12 people have fallen ill in Cambridge, Boston and possibly other areas of Massachusetts since later June in an outbreak that has now been linked to Clover restaurants, the Boston Globe reports.
Clover CEO Ayr Muir said he closed all Clover restaurants and food trucks in Boston, Cambridge, Brookline and Burlington after some of those sickened in the outbreak reported having eaten at Clover. No one has been hospitalized in connection to the outbreak.
The company has not identified the source of the outbreak, nor has any investigation confirmed any Clover restaurants as a source, though Muir told the Globe the company already had a suspect among its suppliers, who had made “recent changes” the company was not aware of until now.
Clover is a vegetarian restaurant chain operating throughout Massachusetts.
