International pizza chain Papa John's International reported second-quarter net income of $17.2m, compared to $14.3m in the comparable quarter last year.
Total revenues increased by 9.6% to $349.2m, from $318.6m in the corresponding period last year.
During second quarter, the chain opened 1,000th international outlet as well as 55 outlets worldwide.
For the six month period ended 30 June, revenues were $704.8m, an 8.5% increase from revenues of $649.9m for the same period in 2012.
Net income was $36.5m, compared to $31.3m for the same period in 2012.
North America franchise royalty revenue increased 3.4%, for the six months. Domestic commissary sales increased 7.5%, primarily due to increases in sales volumes as well as increases in the prices of commodities. International revenues increased 19.9%.
As of 30 June, the chain operated 4,252 Papa John's restaurants in all 50 states and in 34 countries.
