In early September, Pilgrim's Pride Corp. plans to close a rendering facility in El Dorado, Ark., that produces chicken meal used in pet food, which will eliminate 29 jobs, parent company JBS USA confirmed on Aug. 14. Those operations will shift to another Pilgrim's facility in Texas, according to the Northern Colorado Business Report.
"The decision is based on supply chain and operational efficiencies that we cannot achieve in El Dorado," a spokesman said.
