Vintage Wine Estates, a Santa Rosa-based privately owned winery, has acquired Clos Pegase Winery and Vineyards of Napa Valley for an undisclosed amount.
The purchase includes Calistoga vineyards and a lease of the Los Carneros vineyards that totals to 450 acres.
Founded in 1984 by Jan Shrem, Clos Pegase Winery is known for producing quality wines made from their own estate grown grapes. Some of its wines include Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Merlot and other blends grown on Napa Valley vineyards spread from Los Carneros to Calistoga.
With this acquisition, Vintage Wine Estates plans to expand its distribution network and invest in the facilities.

Clos Pegase Winery joins Vintage Wine Estates' family of wineries from Napa, Sonoma and Mendocino such as Girard Winery, Cosentino Winery, Windsor Vineyards, Sonoma Coast Vineyards, Cartlidge & Browne Winery, and Ray's Station.
