The McDonald’s Corp. will introduce a chicken wing product to its national menu for a limited time starting Sept. 9. The new menu item is a bone-in chicken wing that comes in two varieties, a “drummette” or a “wingette,” that is lightly breaded and seasoned with cayenne or chili pepper for a spicy kick. Mighty Wings are sold in 3, 5, and 10 pieces starting at $2.99.
McDonald’s test marketed the menu item in Atlanta in the fall of 2012 and, following a positive response to the test, added the menu item to nearly 280 restaurants in the greater Atlanta area.
Mighty Wings come with an assortment of nine sauces, including chipotle barbeque, creamy ranch, honey mustard, hot mustard, spicy Buffalo, sweet chili, sweet and sour, honey and tangy barbeque.
