Dot Foods, a US-based food redistributor, plans to invest around $24m for the construction of its new distribution center in Dyersburg, Tennessee, a move that will creates 157 new jobs.
The centre, which will be located in Dyersburg Industrial Park on State Highway 211, will be the company's ninth distribution facility.
Spanning an area of 166,494ft2, the center will house frozen, refrigerated and ambient storage; warehouse; and a truck and tractor garage. It will serve the company's distributor customers across middle and western Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, Louisiana and western Kentucky.
Dot Foods noted that the distribution center is expected to be unveiled in September 2014, and a temporary office will be opened in September 2013.
The company has named Tim Loyd as the general manager for the new distribution center.
Commenting on the development, Dot Foods CEO John Tracy said that the conducts extensive logistics analysis on where and when to open a new distribution center and chose Dyersburg because of the community's support, proximity to other Dot Foods locations and customers, as well as its cultural fit with our company.
